What's your opinion on Netbooks and Kindles cuz I'm getting a Netbook and Kindle

Does the title say it all?

Netbooks are great! Super cheap, lightweight, the batteries usually last 6+ hours and I feel safer carrying one around instead of a full sized laptop which can cost a lot more. The only downside to a netbook is the performance is kind of bad, so don't expect to be playing any graphically intensive games if you're into that sort of thing. They also have slower hard drives so programs will take a tiny bit longer to load than you're probably used to, but for the money you'll spend it's a decent trade off. If you have a choice, get one with a 10 or 11 inch screen as opposed to the smaller screens, your eyes will definitely thank you!

No opinion on the Kindle. I'm not a fan of eReaders. :)

Yeah. I told my dad when buying it "I just want a simple thing I can surf the web, do my photo editing and have fun on" and the Toshiba suited my needs...

I'm a big fan of netbooks (I have one myself!) and even use them to play browser games or browser based games (like Howrse or Castle Empire) without any major interference to the graphics. Kindles I haven't dared to look into, because I am just the biggest fan of a good paperback!

I use a netbook and my only qualm is that they're made to conserve power, so that if you are trying to download things, open programs or play games in browser they are a little slow. A lot of the new ones also have Windows 7 Starter instead of Windows Home or whatever, and you can't change customize the background etc like on a normal computer... not a big deal.

If you can find one for $300 or less it's a great deal. I use mine for school stuff because I wont feel bad if it gets stolen, banged around, or whatever- plus they're made for simply surfing the net and doing work.

I also noticed my netbook has very poor sound quality, so I use headphones if I want to go on Youtube. This might just be the model I use, though (Toshiba NB305).

Oh, I have the Toshiba NB505. It really suits my needs. Very small, yet just right!

I was thinking about getting a netbook or whatever. I am planning a trip for next year and I want to have a computer with me to get internet access, but I do not want to bring my laptop all over the world with me. I prefer to travel Light. As in a backpack or Small suitcase at most.

On the other hand, I hate to buy gadets and gizmos, just for the sake of buying stuff.

I love my kindle! And it has internet too.... not for curzing really as it is slow but I love it!

I like my iPad, personally. I have bought a lot more books since I got it because I can use the Kindle app to read on the go and shop for more.
