Did you try the system restore? If so, was it successful?
What did the error message say exactly?

Okay the error message says "" Windows movie maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell microsoft about the problem.
We have created and error repot that you can send to help us improve windows movie maker. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymonus."

Was there an error number with it? Did you try a system restore? It could be a simple Windows update problem that has yet to be fixed, but it's kinda hard for me to know exactly.

Ok, I found the solution to your problem. First, uninstall your current WMM, then go here: http://download.live.com/moviemaker download WMM, and then install it. And you'll have it back.

Did you go into your control panel and then the 'programs and features?' You'll need to go there to uninstall it, then you can install it again via the link above.
