Advice on tracking my miles rode

Could anyone tell me what is the best App to get on your phone for tracking how many miles I ride. I know this has probably been asked before if so sorry . I have tried two different ones and can't seem to get them to work correctly.

I use viewranger. It is loaded on my phone and I just turn it on before I ride and it tells you how many miles, how long, average speed, and lots of other stuff. I am technologically challenged and find it easy to use.

I like endomondo, I made my fiance download it too so he can track me if anything happens while I'm out riding alone :) Best of all, its free!
phantomhorse13 and Celeste like this.

I use woofwears track my hack and it's great if you don't get on with viewranger - it's a freebie one as well!

Silly question I suppose, but do these apps work even if you've lost cell service? My phone doesn't get great reception where I go trail ride, it's spotty at best.
