After ride care of the older trail horse
I am taking my older appaloosa out on a week long trail ride near the end of June. I am told that weather permitting there will be several all day rides as well as a couple moonlight rides. My horse is completely sound and is in good shape but because he is older (will be turning 19) I worry about him getting sore muscles. What can I do to help make him as comfortable and happy as possible? I have heard of using absorbine liniment as a wash after the ride but I am not sure how much to dilute the liniment. Is there anything else in addition to this that I can do?
