Back Country Horsemen of Washington Annual Rendezvous

What a great time in Washington State! No riding over the weekend but got to hang out and talk riding with a bunch of people which is almost as good.
We spoke on map and compass usage and got to pass on a lot of good info. Troxel helmets were won by the people who came furthest (250 miles!) as well as the attendee who traveled the least distance (5 miles) to hear the “Staying Found Land Navigation for Horse and Mule Riders” presentation.
We are also flying into Cincinnati tomorrow to chat with several Mounted Search and Rescue groups this week on the same topic of map and compass usage. I’m hoping to get a ride or two in while back east if we can make the schedule work. It’s been a long time since I rode at East Fork!
If you’re so inclined you can see some of what we’ve been talking about here.
