14 miles round trip with some exposed ridge and steep hill siding mixed in.
In spite of some of the initial scariness (yes, I've got this height phobia thing!), and weather that wasn't the most cooperative, the ride was one of the best I've been on. We climbed out of the Crystal Mountain Basin up onto the Pacific Crest Trail. After hanging out (kind of literally) we headed down the opposite side into the prettiest alpine lake area you'd ever want to see.
In addition to the tremendous views we also saw mountain goats, WOW! We were within 100 meters of them at one point. Never having seen them in the wild it was amazing.
Iím very much looking forward to returning to this area when the weatherís better!
