Best day of 2013 so far.....

Thought I'd share a photo from my ride last Sunday. Getting Dusty in shape for some spring trail rides. Dust hadn't seen green grass in a while so midway I stopped an took off his headstall for some grazing on a deer plot an I caught a little nap. Snapped this photo just before the nap. Got about 5 miles on him with this 30 min break. Not really a trail ride just beating round the farm scouting cedars for post for some new fencing. Turned out to be a beautiful day an Dust is working out to be a great horse. Had him almost a year now an never would of believed he'd turned out this good. Free horses require lots of work! Happy trails y'all!

That looks so nice. Was he hobbled?

No hobbles... He pretty much stays put. A year ago I could barely catch him in a pen. I'm sure I'll pay for this someday.

Wow, it's look like spring there, so beautiful, and a beautiful picture too. I have a foot of snow, but I still go for a ride, I just can't sit down in it & let the horse graze, unless I want a frozen butt & the horse fancies snowcones! Thanks for posting that, enjoyed it.

Was unseasonably nice that day. Just lucked out. Mississippi weather....
