We got our issue of Trail Head News (The Washington Backcountry Horsemen periodical) in the mail over the weekend and the better half was both flattered and slightly annoyed with me for submitting a photo of her riding at Haney Meadow. Flattered because she’s on the cover and annoyed at my choice of pic. At any rate it was pretty nifty and occasioned a trip to find a frame so I could hang it next to our other magazine covers. With the late, and heavy snows it's been hard to get into the high country so far. From what I hear access to Haney is opening now but there's still a bit of snow on the trails. Hoping to get up there in the next few weeks.
Had a great ride on the east side of Cascades, Washington's high desert-ish area, over the weekend at Robinson Canyon. What used to be the main trail out of camp has been completely washed away and is now a 4-5 foot deep stream. I’ll need to spend some time updating the map data on that. Still some great rides there, you just bypass the wash out area for a bit.
