Elbe Forest Updates

Just before spending a soggy weekend at Capitol Forest we spent a soggy day at Elbe Forest while we rode the trails checking the changes made during the winters’ logging operations.

The trails were remarkably well preserved given the logging that’s been done, and indeed is still ongoing. In several places the trail has been re-blazed, if you will, straight thru clearcut areas.

An area that is still closed to recreational use is one of my favorites, the overlook area above the Beaver Creek lunch site. While you can still get to the overlook you’d have to come straight back down the same way as the area behind is being logged.

The trail map has been completely re-vamped if you’re so inclined. For more info, besides a great trail map, such as trail video, trail photos, driving directions, trail details, and more you can click HERE

This is a pic from a day with better weather!
