The last 2 weeks I have been desentizing my new horse bailey (an arabian).he has been doing great. I have no idea what lead me to do a short trail ride around a neighbors farm but something was screaming to do it, it was time.
So I saddled him up and figured lets do it. When I first got on him and rode him around our property he started to get tense. It was our normal routine. So I started to the driveway once we got to the top of the driveway everything changed. His body literally relaxed and his ears were focused and he was listening to every cue. We crossed the street to my neighbors farm and he immediately started taking longer strides and was ready to go. Everything he spooked for in the round pen he didnt have a problem with on the trail. It was amazing it was just what we both needed. A change of pace. A half hour trail ride never felt so good

Hopefully everyone had a good weekend like me :)

Green Broke
Isn't that the best? He may love the trails way more than the arena - I know Biscuit does.

I know I love the trails better too! I would think that they get bored just like I do working in an arena. Sounds like a great horse.

Thanks..i was nervous considering I don't know the extent of his previous training but he def understands the cues better on trail then in any arena.. :)
