First time going BACK to where Gypsy had her meltdown

Remember a couple months back, when my 'friend' left me and Gypsy out on the trail and Gypsy flipped out and we were trying to catch up with her with out getting me dumped and having Gypsy gallop after them! And we were seperated for a half hour.

Well, after that Gypsy took a huge leap back in her trail riding training. I've taken her out a couple of times after that but today was the first time we went to the area where it all happend. When we first went through it Gypsy did fine a little nervous, but most of the time I could have her on a loose rein and some areas I had to do half haults. Well then when we were heading back through that same area and she was behind the horse (Buddy her boyfriend) she thought he was going to leave her so she did a small buck and crow hopped a couple times. I yeilded and did circles and stuff. Then Kate had to do a lot of desengaging because Buddy was now getting nervous so Gypsy went into the lead she calmed down a bit.

We started to go down the big hill, Gypsy was getting a little better but still had that warmblood prance going on  Buddy was wanting to canter down the big muddy hill! But once we got out into the field we did MORE circles and serpatiens and they calmed down we walked home and every thing was A-Okay!

I can't wait till me and Kate get both our horses really good out there so we can start going more then just a walk, but it will be a while. Im just glad I have some one who KNOWS HORSES and the RULES of trail riding. And is very attentive to Gypsy's needs as I am with Buddy and his hiccups.

Just thought I would share our progress

Good for you! Sounds like you are moving in the right direction after a bit of a set back. Keep it up, slow and easy is always the fastest way to get where you want to go.
