first time for him and he did great

It was the first time I trailered my horse denny off our place for a trail ride. He was so good. We were out for about 2 1/2 hours. He was so great!!! He crossed bridges (something he has never come across) without hestitation. Walked through mud (which he hates) even crossed a deep puddle (about 6 inches deep) without any problems.

The only problem we had was reloading. He had so much fun seeing all the new horse buddies he could be with that he didn't want to leave.lol so I had to get help to coax him in. But he walked right in when I had the help. So great.

It was also my first time pulling the trailer with him in it (or any animal for that matter). I had practiced for weeks but was so nervous to actually drive a living animal around. And I did great. I need more practice with backing up but that was not needed in the parking lot I went to so it was perfect.

Such a great weekend :)

Sorry for the rambling I am so excited. I am going to try again next weekend and bring my sister and her horse :)

Good for you and Denny! Don't you just love these moments.

Wow that's awesome! I just got my horses to load in my new trailer, so my next step is going somewhere! Did you take him by yourself or did you go riding with a friend?

hahaha I did both... I drove him and myself to the trail and met another person there with there horse. It worked out pretty well except for my guy being a sweaty mess when we arrived :/ needed 2 towels to dry him... such a punk but he was a dream on the trail. Just make sure your horse is desentized to alot before going. It saved us acouple of times where the person we met there, her horse spooks still and my guy would go on like nothing happened so we both helped each other out that day from trailer standing to trail riding.

Good luck I hope you have as much luck as me :) but atleast meet someone there so that way you have someone to help in case you need it. My guy wouldn't load when we got back. He wanted to stay with everyone so having 1 other person makes a difference. :)
