So my horse is pretty easy going and not a bolter with a rider onboard. Like you have to usually force him to run and have a crop or spurs. But I was riding out alone and my shirt got snagged on a low hanging branch that was thick and I felt my neck stretching and sorta like it was going to pop so I somehow got my feet out of the irons dropped my crop dropped everything and landed flat on my back. I always wear a helmet so I was fine other than my shoulder/neck. But after this happened my horse just bolted off and then I got disoriented and couldn't catch him and by the time he apparently tried to walk or jog back to the barn which was less than a mile away. Like he didn't run all the way to the barn but he was headed and that direction. So anyways having a fannypack saved me because I had my phone in it. I'm glad I don't put everything into saddle bags that stay on the horse.
*Anyways anyone had this happen? It was scary because even though my horse wouldn't try to bolt with me on him he still could have accidentally dragged me under that branch or my foot could have went through the stirrup. Anyways the what ifs are scary. I was so tangled I couldn't think of wether to ask my horse to step back or sideways to untangled myself and I had to crop everything and pretty much just fall.
