My Morgan has been barefoot for 8 years and can go over ANYTHING. He has crazy hard huge feet. My AQHA has small feet and was shod when I got him 2 abcesses and a quarter crack later I learned about the barefoot trim he has been shoeless for 2 yrs and has had solid feet for the last 18 months. No problems the first 6 months for him were ouchy depending on terrain. Appendix had all four feet shod and we removed them as soon as he came to our farm and he never has taken an ouchy step. Yes they get harder as time goes on. go shoeless goodluck
