lets talk ice water on the trail

For years I've carried a Nalgene bottle but recently GF bought a Rtic 18 ounce bottle......

After a few trips where she always had ice at the end of the day, I ordered a 36 ounce Rtic bottle....the first day I got it, I filled it with ice and water......then, left it in the floor board of my car all day while at work...so, the car has a black interior and during August in Dixie the inside had to be in the 120 to 130 degree range most of the day....I still had ice, and a good bit of it, at 5pm....when I dumped it out at 8pm, same thing......this thing holds ice!

Now, Yeti's are trendy and no doubt pretty darn good, but another friend mentioned Ozark Trail products are every bit as good and about a third the price of a Yeti and cheaper than Rtic....

Anyone tried Ozark Trail bottles/tumblers yet?

Here I thought you meant icy water for the horses to cross!
Yes, Lol....I guess Ice water is interpreted differently in Canada!

It's in the high nineties here in Dixieland! Nothing like a cold drink of water later in the afternoon when the sun's blazing.....

Actually, yes, I have two from the dinosaur days, both made by Aladin Industries in Nashville TN (which is now out of business).

They work well, but nothing like the new stuff, and, they're huge.

However, coffee in them is cold by the end of the day....

I have all 3, Yeti, rtic, and Ozark trails. They ALL work great, but I have to say that the cheapo Wal-Mart Ozark trail works best. Unfortunately, the rest of the world is catching on and they are getting hard to find. I tend to use the Yeti most because it was a work giveaway, so if I lose it, eh I am not out anything. For cocktails on the porch its the rtic or OT.

Just checked them out....looks like they're priced similar, but maybe a bit more than the Rtic?

One of the things I like about the nalgene is the top stays with the bottle, so I can drink one handed....

The Rtic bottle I have now, requires two hands, one to hold the top and one to hold the bottle.....which makes it tough if you're trying to hold the reins while gaiting down a trail.....

I'm thinking about adding an extra large fishing swivel and a lanyard on the top, but still, am tying to figure out a better way of dealing with the top...

6Gun, you're the second person I've had tell me the Ozark Trails is a better performing product than either the Yeti or the Rtic....
