Me and chance went on a long trail ride!!!

I went on a hour and a 1/2 trail ride! With my friend synthia! We even went over a few jumps on the cross country course!

We galloped up a hill lol not my choice but it was fun so I let her go

Then we went down a hill at a canter and I was having a ton of fun so my friends like do you want to turn around and do it again and im like sure why not so we turn around nad we started to canter well sythia's horse lola was leading in front. Well she did a sharp turn she wasnt suppose to and sythia tried to stop her well since we were follow chance turned as well and I wasnt ready including the fact im in an english saddle so I came right off landed on my back [sythia was in a western saddle so she stayed on lol] I couldnt breath what so ever but chance stayed right there with me and sythia kept asking if I was okay but I couldnt say anything. Once I could breath I asked sythia to hold her for me so I got back on and we trotted back to the barn! It was such a fun ride!! Chance did soooo well I mean she didnt spook at all she trotted when I asked whoed and go'ed when I asked! I had a great ride!

Well my back kills but its all good we cantered and I got my fear of fall off of her over with lol I mean I've been thrown and stuff but idk I just was scared of falling again..

Im so excited to go again and hope my friend is riding a horse with better controlage lol

Wow that sounds like fun. :) Galloping is fun...but be careful!! I'm glad you were OK & that Chance stayed with you!!

It was and I know I should have held her back but she was all for it lol. LOl I kinda laughed off the whole thing cause chance just stoped and looked at me then ate :P

I'm confused though... didn't you say you could only do light riding on Chance because of her hooves?

Yup and we did go on a light ride on the way there all we did was walk and a few seconds of trotting just to get up a hill or if she was going down.

On the way back We did more then we should have but she was more then up to it and wasnt limping like she was a few days ago. We only cantered up a slight hill galloped down a few strides cantered then well I fell off lol then walked the next 15 mins back with slight trotting.

It really wasnt that hard of a ride and she was quite happy and wanted to go more so she definitely wasnt all that sore.

Ok, that's good. I just didn't want to see a post on here later about her being lame. That would be sad

From here on think its just going to be walking on trails and very slight trotting nothing else. Work on ground mannors and picking up her feet and riding in the arena at a walk and very slight trotting

And just going at it very easy the rest of this week.

The farrier said it shouldnt take to long for it to heal.

But the trail may of been a little much but I tried to keep her on very soft ground.

She had fun though.

Tomorrow im going to just try and ride her with a halter and 2 leads because her mouth is sore and need to be floated and its becoming almost impossible to bridle her she broke a cross tie too!

So we are going to ride bitless for a while till her teeth are floated.
