First the sad news: my Ellie died suddenly about 3 weeks ago. I wasn't sure I even wanted to get another horse, at least not right away, and certainly not one that could almost be her twin sister. But my friend insisted, and last week we brought Nova (for the big, bright star) home.
Yesterday was her first trail ride with us. She's young (7) & pretty green - the seller said she'd only been out on trails about 10 times, but she did really well. We only went a couple of miles, and had her on a lead rope just in case, but didn't need it at all.
Horses get into your blood & being horseless is way too sad! I was horseless for almost a year & now having a horse again is just so wonderful! I'm looking for another one now-the excuse is it is for Hubby, but I'll do most of the riding on it to keep it "tuned up"! And I say "it" because while a mare is my preference, he has none for color or gender.
