Northwestern PA Horse Camping
We're heading up to camp at a place called Big Elk Lick Horse Camp next week, and I was wondering if anyone here has been to that camp or done the trails in that area?
It's near Benezette, PA - from all I've seen and been told, there are a ton of elk in the area and they tend to just wander around, lie in people's yards, etc.
What are the trails like, for those who have been there? And, in general, what's the terrain like? Ground hard, or soft and sandy? Rocky, muddy, clay? Scenic vistas or more forest canopy/green tunnel riding?
I contacted the campground owner and they said there are "a lot" of trails, they are well-ridden but not well-marked.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has been.
