riding in the rain

Me and hubby went for a ride in the rain today. It was great, covered alot of ground and actually got my horse in the small lake that's behind our place.(very shallow). We raced a bit, had a goooood time.My skiiny man is finally muscling up.Running up this one hill helps Im sure!hehehe.Yesterday we went too and got really close to a herd of elk before our dogs took chase. Then we turned off and theres a trail to our left and here came a bull out w/ our dog tailing him, our boys didnt even spook. They are getting braver all the time.Doing pretty much what we ask.I took Butler down this embankment to get to the paved road that was scarey but he just himmed and hawed for a few seconds and found HIS spot and went for it.The county dug a huge ditch across the trailhead to keep ATVs out. We've taken them thru it but you have to dismount to do it. Just wanted to share.
Tomorrow we are trailering them up and driving 40 minutes to some trails in the forest(Buck Creek).Nice 4' wide soft dirt trails.Heard its a fun place to camp and ride.Wish me luck!

Oooh, sounds fun! I'm glad your horses are doing well too; yep, hill work sure builds those muscles!
