Stafford Creek Ride

Over the weekend we ventured higher into the mountains in the Stafford Creek area of the Wenatchee National Forest near Cle Elum, WA.

Had a great time riding the 13 mile loop that is the Miller Creek to Bear Creek Route. Climbing out of Miller Creek was pretty strenuous. We hiked and led the horses for a god bit of the steeper sections of switchbacks to keep from wearing the horses out (riding apparel does NOT make for comfortable hiking. Especially riding boots!).

Once we made the ridge wow, the views were incredible we could easily see Mount Rainer as well as Mount Adams. Mount Stewart although much closer was obscured by the ridge between us. Some of the views into the valleys were vertigo inducing! You can click on the pic for more info and pics etc.

Thanks! It took a while for me to figure out the coding but I like being able to scroll over a map and see images of the trail at that point.
