My mom knows how to ride horses... for the most part. She hasn't in several years (more like 20 years) though. But she doesn't like the sound of me riding on trails alone (despite all of the precautions that I'll be taking). So... she's said that she'll ride with me. The thing is... I've done things like this with my mom before... and well... they never quite ended up how I wanted them to...
She knows how to act around horses... and so on... but she's ridden VERY little during camps... and that was on Western trained camp horses... horses that are EXTREMELY calm and good-natured... and are also somewhat old.
Now... this stable DOES have horses to ride... and some pretty good and calm ones. But it's all English... and I'm afraid that my mom won't know what to do. Especially on a trail. I'm wanting to canter at some point (later in the month), and I'm afraid of that being too fast for my mom... and if she might be on a horse that will bolt. Plus... I have no idea if she's WILLING to do this every day... because that's what I'm going to be doing.
