Trails In Michigan?

As you could probably tell from the title of this topic I'm looking for some trails located around Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and enywhere else around that area. The only place I know of where I can camp with my horse is Fort Custer and I'd like to try somewhere else. If you know about places where I can go on trails or camp with my horses please post it here. It doesn't have to be right in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area it can also be all over Michigan but I'd prefer it to be around Kalamazoo or Battle Creek due to the fact that I live around that area.

The only other place I know of that you can camp at is Silver Creek. There are places that have trails but you can't camp at, such as the battle creek hunt club. Might want to contact them if you don't necessarily need to camp. If I think of any more, I'll add on. =]

EDIT: Completely forgot Yankee Springs! You can camp there and ride.

Thank you. I'd like to camp a little with my horse but I'm also accepting places that you can only trail ride at. I'll take a look at the Battle Creek Hunt Club and see what they have to say.

I realize that it's a bit of a hike, but the UP must have tonnes of areas to ride and camp. Huron/Manistee National Forests also have some designated horse trails/camping areas--and they are a lot closer than the UP!

Other than that, check all the local state parks and state/county forest areas. Not sure about Michigan but in many states those are very nice areas to ride.

I would suggest you join the MI HORSE email list on yahoo. There are a lot of trail riders on the list and they might be able to suggest some places for you
