Weekend plans & a horsey birthday

Tomorrow is my big boys birthday. He'll be 11 years young :)

Happy birthday Phoenix!

Got a lovely end of week/weekend planned. Tomorrow i'll probably make him some kind of 'cake' to eat, then i'm planning on riding tomorrow night, some light work in the arena since I haven't ridden in about a month because of school and vacation. Then something I know he'll enjoy, a nice sheath cleaning :) he also needs his ears cleaned too, which he loves!

Saturday, the trainer is coming to take me and 2 friends out on trail to do some fun exercises to build confidence and help me and my horse get over our trail anxiety. I'll be riding Saturday morning in the arena to get any spookiness/ energy off him before we go out. He's been having difficulty with hills, bucking and such that needs work and I need help with him in that area. Plus, he gets anxious when other horses leave/move faster than a snails pace, so maybe we'll be working on that too. My friends horse has been having a few issues that need work too so luckily it's not all about my horse.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has lovely weekend trail riding plans.

Happy birthday Phoenix! :)

That sounds like a lovely idea! I don't know any horse cake recipes but have a wonderful time on your trail ride!
