Your opinion...Do drafts/draft crosses make good trail horses?

My baby is a percheron/Morgan cross.....she's amazing in every possible way! ;)

Haflingers aren't technically drafts even if they are used in hitches. My haflinger had nothing slow about him - he moved quickly out and tended to keep up with the walkers we trailed with. That boy liked to move out and I had to hold him back most of the time.

Much husband has a draft cross for the trails. Awesome horse. He has been on +6 hour rides up in the knobs and handled the steep hills just fine. His hooves want to flare but have never been sore over rock or anything. He is not going to run an endurance race but he is not a plodder either. He likes to move out.
