First western show-couple questions.

Hi all-Guinness has his first Western show (just a small local show) Saturday. Mainly to school him, since this will be his first and I have not shown in years, never Western. Couple of questions.....When you reverse in a pleasure class, which way is correct? (hunter was always to the outside, when I showed that).
Also-when asked to back up-how many steps? 3? 4?
If I go in Open w/t and green w/t can I still go in Open Trail?
AQHA Rules apply, if that makes a difference.
Trainer will be taking him in Reining-yikes! Again-just to school-he doesn't even have sliders on yet, and just put his first shank in today....my little boy is growing up.....

Ok-thanks Sorelhorse.....Appreciate it. Will ask when I register about the trail class. I thought maybe that was another AQHA rules thing.

Far as AQHA rules, which are the same as ApHC, which I show, far as divisons, you can always move up , showing open if you wish.
On the other hand, a pro can't show non pro , nor can a non pro that has pointed out in any class, show novice non pro in that class
Hope this helps, but yes, check with show management, because some open shows will follow some breed rule book for the most part, and still have some modification of rules that apply just to their show
