Halter for showmanship

Okay, not exactly a WP question but I figure you guys may know.

I've got a small local horse show coming up. I have a silver show halter (a cheaper one; nothing too fancy) but I've never "strung" the chain on the lead rope before. Can anyone post a picture of the proper way to attach your chain-end lead rope to a silver show halter?

Like this! Or if you have a shorter chain, then just attach it to the second halter ring. Or if its long, like mine, then attach it to the chain once you thread it through. Then on the right side leave about 2-4 links left over in the lead. So its not too long and not too short. You'll have to probably adjust where you put the clip.

Yep, just like above!

I spent so long putting the chain over the nose, until my trainer corrected me. I only show in hand once in a blue moon if I need a high point, but it sure was helpful.

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.
