Leg position at Lope

When I lope, my leg slides forward and I have trouble keeping it underneath me. I know how to lope, i've been riding for five years. At the last place I rode at, my instructor never called out anything bad for my posture, and i've been loping with my legs forward for quite sometime now. It's just a habit that I know is improper.

What i'm wondering is if you have any tips for how I can focus and keep my legs under me. This horse loves cutting in, so I focus more on keeping her on the correct lead and on the wall. When I do this, my legs slide forward without me realizing it. Any ideas or tips? I want to stop this annoying habit.

If you lower legs are coming forward at the lope it means you are in a "chair seat" and are not sitting on your seat bones. You have rolled back on your pockets and have collapsed. You need to maintain a centered seat by being able to feel your seat bones. If she's cutting in...keep your inside leg on her to push her back out.
