Newbie needs some tips for first show!

My best friend who shows and wins at national levels (they are at mini nationals now and won there too! ) Anyway, Kelly has always told my daughter hair up and tight. No beautiful ponytails they have entirely way to much movement. Good luck and have fun! I should ad Kelly used to carry a nationals judges card and judged shows all over the nation too. I love getting advice from her :)

A straightened ponytail is fine for the pleasure and trail, and inappropriate for horsemanship and showmanship.

Thanks all! I didn't get to show that day... ended up getting very sick :( I will hopefully be doing a local, small show in November. It will officially be my first Western Pleasure show. At least I have some more time to prepare/read up! Any attire differences that I need to know about for Winter series versus Spring series?

Don't worry about the show. :) I was like that too.
I would put my hair up well in a braid. Other then that you should be fine. :)
And don't forget to smile!!!!!!
