I know next to nothing about WP horses, but this horse looks- to me- disconnected from hind to front, as if both are moving independently of one another.

Don't feel bad Cori, it does look bad to all of us that appreciate a natural moving horse with a nice level topline. You know, a practical using horse. OHK is one of the better ones compared to some of the others that you see around. It's getting to where it doesn't bother me quite so much so long as they aren't using their head and neck for impulsion like the bay horse at 3:02.

I love this horse. He is level and natural and actually moving along. He is arena sour as all get out but it doesn't change the fact that he's a beautiful mover. IMHO, this is what WP judges should start looking for, he looks like a real pleasure to ride.

Watch the fellow riding that last video at lope, he is really being bumped around because of the stiffness of the horse's back and hips. Forcing the horse to go so slow is very unnatural . It puts them heavily on the forehand and prevents them from picking up their feet properly (notice in all the videos shown so far that all the horses are dragging their feet through the sand and throwing up real clouds of dust)
Horses ridden this way over years and years end up having hip and back trouble a lot. I cannot see how this is pleasureable for horse or rider.

I meant the video of that world champion , the one with the fake tale.
This Appy and woman is wonderful!

Every horse in smrobs first video has a head bob at the lope! It's making them all look dead lame, how gross!

Not to mention the "jogs" half of them look like they're hoping around with tacks under their front feet.

Edit: Forgot to add how much I love your second video and completely agree with you. Glad the horse won before trying to bite the judge though! Haha

They just look so FLAT to me!

Arabian WP...
Just saying :)

The lope is about 1:59. No fake tails here ;)

And I'm sorry I HATE fake tails. I know it's a standard now and in some cases a requirement but it makes me sort of ill to see. Back in the day that was called cheating, so how has cheating become standard? I think also part of why I don't like it is that I have always done a lot of WORK to make my horses tails look perfect and now if I don't put a fake tail in their already perfect tail, then my horse is faulted for it or looks like it has a bum tail because it doesn't look like the fakes.

I know what you mean with the fake tails. They've been so popular...I'm glad I got out of showing before that theme took off.

I just had to say that Cinny in your avatar?! OMG he looks amazing!

First vid by smrobs: They *do* know that snappily picking your feet up IS NOT a jog right? Right?!
How about the only one I would place in that class is the kookie older lady with the Cosby sweater on. Her horse is actually attempting to carry her weight...not drag on. They all have horrific headsets though. Oh and why must you look uninterested while riding. All of those people look like they are NOT happy to be there!

Second Vid: I love that horse. Love him. Perfect lope...exactly what I would be looking for. Not to mention the rider is very good. Why must they ruin this? I just defended TWH...I cannot take WP on too! LOL

Eliz: I rode WP about 15-18 years ago...tri state level but still very competitive. Your video reminds me of what we were looking for back then. A jog that was comfortable, covered ground and had energy. While the headset was different, not by much. The height was about right...the verticle face was not. But that's an arab thing though! Again, with the lope you wanted a ground covering, comfortable and energetic lope. You wanted to move slow but with energy. So sad where this trend has taken us.

Yeah, I'm not big into the QH shows besides reining & cowhorse because of all that crap. It's so... Fake. I watched a paint HUS class at the fair just last sunday and I was SO disappointed. They moved just like the WP horses!

I'm so thrilled the arab thing is different, and I'm crossing my fingers it'll stay that way.
