Buy used! Whenever I go to shows, I'm constantly asking people where they got their chaps, shirts, boots, etc. At fair last year I bought a bunch of used show clothes from a retired 4-Her for an absolute steal, and at last weekend's show I bought a pair of Hobby Horse chaps from someone who went to Congress last year (they retailed at $400) for $200 that I LOVE.

I shut my computer off accidently

Sorry it took me so long to answer equiniphile. I hit a wrong button and my computer shut down, and it takes forever to restart. So far everything I have for showing I did buy used, and I haven't quit yet I don't think I've bought anything new to wear in 4 years! We have a great mission here and I get my shoes, clothes, and well once even bought a picture, LOL there. I bought a brand new pair of barn boots there, oh man can't remember the name now, but they guarentee them for life, and my dog had an upset stomach one night and thought that leather would fix it I didn't think they'd take them back because of them tasting so good, so now no shoes anywhere but in the closet. I love searching out bargains, and if I drove I'd do even more of it. I got my show jacket on eBay for 14.99 And it only comes to the waist and has three old sterling silver bittons on it. And the two StateLine Tack slinkies for $9.99, and sold the blue one for $9.99. Once I start going to the barn (haven't been able to make it there yet, hopefully tomorrow) I'll be asking those folks where they get their stuff too. You guys are being so helpful. Thanks, Cheryl

Nice deals! I went to Goodwill once and found a gorgeous breastcollar with nice silver on it for $15. Those poor ladies had no idea how much it was worth

At the mission they know about a lot of it, OH they were LL Bean, brand new, 5 bucks, LOL. But they make their money on donated items, and if they sell the stuff for what it's worth, then people have no reason to keep that place packed. The last time I went i took an entire garbage bag stuffed full of stuff I couldn't use anymore, so it's really the ultimate 'green policy' when you think about it. When I throw something away usable here I put it in FRONT of the dumpster (we have a big church parking lot in back and people cut through all the time) in case someone else can use it. I've had a lot of help in my life and if I can 'pay it forward' I'm happy to.
