I think a dark red would me pretty, sort of burgandy-ish.

Depending on your horse's color hobby horse has a color matcher. Dress for success is on their site.

Its rather helpful if you ask me :)

Hobby Horse Clothing Co. - Description
gigem88, Leahrene and capercowgirl like this.

A horse which stops dead just before a jump and thus propels its rider into a graceful arc provides a splendid excuse for general merriment.

Make sure you don't forget have matching saddle pad to your shirt. And if you can get the same color as accents elsewhere in his tack (headstall, browband, chest collar), you can get more visual appeal. Well dressed and coordination between horse and rider :)

Most any solid color will do (bright, pastel, or fluorescent). I would recommend to stay away from loud patterns (it would draw attention from your boys neat coat coloring) and from white, grey, and black.
