All I see now is the peanut rollers have gone from looking for peanuts to dunking for apples.
LOL Spyder. But that goes back to the reasonings as mentioned already - because that is what the WP Judges want - so therefore that is what we see. If the Judges banned the Peanut Rolling - you would see all the WP people not training their horses to do it anymore and then all of a sudden it would be taboo to speak of it. If the WP Judges ban that horrible slow gait, it would no longer be seen or spoken of again - it is the Judge to rules the WP world, as is in any world.

JDI has flattered me outrageously here by even referring to Spyder and I in the same breath *and* referring to me as an accomplished rider.

Maura, while you are a very modest person, I do feel that you deserve the praise I gave you. While you may not have ridden the highest levels, you do know and understand what you're talking about.

I would like to point out that there are many others on this forum who deserve praise as well. Anebel, Smrobs, Allison and more.

Aw, thank you MIE to lump me in there with those really good horsepeople. I am not nearly as educated as many of you as far as the proper definitions of all that stuff but it makes me feel good to know that people do sometimes appreciate my lowly uneducated opinion.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

In mine? No way, jose.

This is what a winning show horse looks like in MY country. Most are nowhere near collection but are closer to a dressage horses movement than a WP horse. A WP horse in a hack class would not even get a look in.

In my country, a WP horse is only good for a WP class. I have actually NEVER seen a WP horse and I show on my local circuit regularly.

Exactly and well said.
and so how come at the pinto world show this year with arab, pony and an apha judge the wp horses got first?

Very much so but in your post

So heres the deal. In 99% of shows if you enter your "collected" horse against any good WP horse, the WP horse will win. (not jumping or racing, just a standard horse show) WP horses are like the kings of the show industry.
You blatantly stated WP horses are the king of the industry.

You need to be more precise when you make statements.

Just a note. I DID enter my "collected" horse in WP and won. That is the horse in the picture I posted. He also did all the western games, jumper , hunter and dressage.

That IS a standard horse show in my country. WP horses ONLY compete in QH shows in my country. There are NO open shows for WP or other western disciplines.

That is the type of horse you will see at an Ag Show which is the main type of showing here. You qualify at Ag shows to compete at the Royal shows - One per year per city.

Guess it depends on the location. Come on over to Michigan State to the huge Apple Blossom Open Horse Show where hundreds come and compete every year, and you'll see a whole different response in winnings.

Depends on the Judge. Depends on the area.

Example: I can go out West and watch Hunters ride with their upper bodies laying on the horses necks and ducking, and pin - you go out West, those riders wouldn't place if their lives depended on it.

I wasn't discrediting any other posters - far from it. I was just pointing out that in particular in THIS thread, Spyder and Maura had made some excellent posts in regards to true collection. There are many, many, many helpful posters on this forum - to list them all would take a long time!
