Yes my girls do WSCA. My older daughters horse is in his late 20s. He runs good for her but just a hair to slow. She a intermediate so it tough age group. If they placed to 10th at the shows she would have ribbons.
We got her a new horse this year (Leo) he does not know the games yet but she understands that she has to work with him. My younger daughter does barrel jackpots. This year she won 2 jackets ( from one location) and a belt bucket for a different series. This last weekend she did get to do speed and action. I thought for sure her horse would not stop in the box but she did and got 1st place.
When ever we go to show I don't push them to win I just ask for a clean run I don't care about the times. Ribbons are a bonus.
Fun times!!!! Ya that intermediate age group is a tough one. Do you show at Champ show? This years show had well over 100 entries in that age for gaming. Im glad to hear that you arent a parent that freaks out at the kids if they mess something up. I do mostly pleasure and I see it all of the time where parents start hounding on them if they did something wrong. When my mom went with me she was there for me... if I started getting upset about something she would remind me where the truck and trailer were (meaning we will go home). She was excited when I won but supportive if I had a bad ride.
What arena was your recent show at?
I do miss gaming though... not having to worry about a fleck of dirt or if my clothes match or if my horses head was a little too high, lol. Me against the timer not the judges opinion. I hope your girls have good luck in 2009!!!!
