Can anyone tell me what this means?

My birthday is coming up, and one of the things on my list is a braided leather hackamore. But I'm having troubles of trying to understand how you know the size is just right for your horse. I have a quarter horse and his bit size is 5", not sure if that gives info but, could you guys look at his website please this is the hackamore I want on my list... Those are more of a one size fits all kind of thing.

So... are you essentially buying the nose piece and then attaching it to your headstall?

Yep that is correct. It is like any other bit.

I know they sell different sizes if you have a mule or draft but other than that I think its a one size thing.

Ohhhh okay.. do you use these? Are they any good?
