Cowgirl hats? what style?

I'm going to be (most likely) performing in a horse show for a fundraiser, and the organiser want's us (my sister and I) to wear cowboy/girl hats, we're english riders that barrel race and do pole bending... so we wear helmets... \:

Anyway, what type/style/brand of hat should we get?!
Not too expensive, but not cheap looking...

He want's us to wear white ones. If that makes any difference.

Thanks a billion!

Tell him you wear helmets, It's wrong and in some areas illegal to prohibit soemone from wearing a helmet. Even if it isnt can you imagine the liability issue if there is an injury and the organizer told you you can't wear a helmet ?

But from a fashion stand point it depends on the season, You only wear white during summer.

I bought a Seratelli 6X just for a cheap work hat. I think I paid $120 about 4 years ago. I am actually really surprised how long it has held up! It has been through rain, snow, hail, corral dust, stepped on and thrown. Lol. It actually lasted as long as a custom hat I have.

Ask him if you can just get white helmet covers instead because you have always ridden in a helmet and do not feel comfortable riding without one. That's what I would do at least.

Joe - my sister and I are fine without wearing helmets, just all the comps we do we have to, we don't ride with helmets all the time barely ever at home.

And lucky it's summer!

Nicole - ^^ same as Joe, only ride in a helmet cause we have to! We feel 100% safe without one.

And thanks CowChick! (: will have a look into them

I would just wear your helmet.

I wear mine ALL of the time, because I do not feel safe riding without it. Not because anything bad is going to happen for sure, but because the possibility is there. And my Grade 3 concussion would have been worse without my helmet......eek

We're not allowed to wear a helmet... it's a show, the organiser doesn't want us to wear them.... and I'm fine with that...

The problem with cheap hats is they look cheap. Your not going to find a nice looking cheap hat unless you go to a tack swap or something. Hats will almost always look the price you paid.
