I got a western saddle today

My trainer was cleaning out her tack store today and she came across a western saddle. She knew that my horse used to do western with his old owner..so she thought it would be neat for me to try something different. So she gave me this western saddle.

What do you think of this saddle?

Sorry if the file seems big.

Wow! She just gave it to you?

How nice and awesome.

I think it also looks like a very nice one to boot!

Make sure you bake her some cookies for your next lesson.

Wow. She actually GAVE that to you??!! It's a very nice saddle! The older saddles are nicely built and will last FOREVER! Does it have a name on it at all? It actually looks like an old barrel racing saddle because of the skirt length. What a great gift!!!!

Thank you everyone for your comments.

So today i gave that saddle a try on my horse. Boy did i have a hard time with that saddle. While i was riding,my reins kept getting caught under the saddle pad and i kepy loosing my stirrups. (keep in mind that i ride english). I am sorry to say..i did not like riding western. How do you guys/gals do it?

Im going to give the saddle back to my trainer. Maybe she can find someone else to use it.

But it was kind of neat to try something different.

NO NO NO! Give the saddle to me!!! lol

Nice saddle & it looked like the fenders were already trained to go out. If you used that pad in the picture, that may be why the reains kept getting caught. It looks like an English pad.

Horses are God's apology for men.
