Okay! I'll start small. I've seen the trainer at my stable start jumping by lunging, and then introducing obstacles to jump over. So, maybe I'll start there. As for Western Pleasure, I suppose maybe I'll introduce side reins (With some help from the stable owner), since her favorite thing to do is throw her head. (Which may have been because her bridle was 42 inches bit to bit, and her head is 52... When
I bought her, they just found a bridle they could cram on her and used it.) I have yet to try the new one. Or, I suppose, try teaching her to lower her head down on command.

Get involved with a local ride club. They usually to shows just for fun at their arena and there you could try out different things about each show. You may find you like western riding better than english or visa versa. Just try out different things and see what you and your horse are suited towards. I always thought I would love jumping but once I tried western pleasure I was hooked line and sinker.

Start with some free fairs or something very non-competitive
