There's a woman I know who does reining, and trains also. She put me up for a spin (literally) on a reining horse, and it was fun. Well, I've been looking to send Cowboy in for training to finish his lope 100% but, he's $600 for a month. Working for min. Wage, it's HARD to gather that money. I have one third of what I need to send him into training... for one month 8|
The woman is considerably cheaper, and she's done very well in reining. So I'm almost considering sending her to him. I would have almost half of what I need to send him to her. He's a quick learner, and I think he'd like the challenge of reining - he's a great pattern horse, as long as you don't rehearse it 8| Then she also has discounts. Every month equals a $25 discount for the next month of training. Not much, but every bit counts.. And I'm much more likely to make $450 a month as opposed to $600. Don't get me wrong, the guy is WORTH it.. He's been to APHA and PtHA worlds, and has won.
I kind of want to try something new, and she's also well rounded as far as jumping, dressage, pleasure, etc. And quite honestly I've seen the reining horses 'downshift' and they could do a pleasure class too.
I'M SO CONFLICTED!!! Some advices would be appreciated. It's those darn youtube videos!
