Question resizing a bosal (smaller)

Ok I know this is a really stupid question but can you make a bosal smaller naturally without tape..?

I have 2 friends one owns arabians that of course have small head and a really nice show bosal $$$ well my other friend has been using it on her huge headed paint gelding and I mean his head is big wears 6" bit can that be made to fit an arabian again?

If that doesn't work, you can try re-shaping it to have a smaller opening and a longer area for the mecate.
