This one girl at my trainers barn took her horse to aqha worlds for gameing. Im just not sure how to get him to pick up speed cus my old barrel horse already knew every thing. Outlaw is fine with turn & stuff with barells. How can I work on turns for keyhole. My trainer whants every one that has a aqha this year to get to congress or worlds this year and for the coming years but I would probable go for wp. But I love barrels.

You need to get him doing roll backs for key. I taught my horse by walking her along a fence line, stopping and backing her into my open outside hand and leg. (asking for a back and turning into the wall). You want your horse to initially start backing out and turning on the hind. Once your horse starts turning off and begins lifting up that front end, start bumping up speed. Eventually you want your horse lifting up over its hocks and bringing its front end around.
