Question Trail class-help with poles?

My gelding does a pretty good trail pattern, except he tends to step on the poles used for walk overs, trot overs, and lope overs. He occasionally does it walking into the box, too.

I tried having someone on the ground to raise the poles a little while we're going over them, but that just makes him cranky. Does anyone have any other ideas?

sounds like he might need some more forward energy while going over the poles. Kick him up a bit & encourage him forward.

Sounds like he may just be getting lazy about picking up his feet or bored if all you do is work on the patterns. I agree with GottaRide about pushing him to get more energy going.

On the seventh day, he Painted the good ones.
