Versatility Ranch Horse

Sense I pretty much want to do reining and cutting, I was thinking maybe I should do versatility ranch horse competition. Wondering if any of you guys on the forum have been in the association or participated? Thanks.

I have not but I used to show with an association that provided versatility classes, like ranch and trail classes. I had a lot of fun doing them and it gave my barrel horse a chance to be in the arena for something other than running. I think go for it :)

Morning @Hannah,

versatility is a nice discipline. Do you have a stable nearby with cattle or at least a cow trac? Some horses do have kinda cutting gene, this will help you a lot when starting with cutting.

I ride in the Oklahoma Foundation Quarter Horse Registry..
The way our versatility works, they add up the points for4 catagories of classes:
1 Conformation Class
1 Speed Event
1 Show Event
1 Ranch/cow event

At the end of the year, versatility winner in sr youth, jr youth, open, amatuer, and novice win saddles!
