I tried to do some western yesterday, using the neck rein! :)
It went ok.. Not good, but not entirely bad, I think? xD
Hope someone will take a look and give me some advice..!

I tried again today, and I filmed it but its all blurry for some reason, so I wont bother uploading.. But it went loads better today! I tried riding in the big riding house and although he sped up, I was able to slow him down by making circles, on a loose rein! :) It went better than yesterday, so thats good.. :p

I don't care if the video is blurry, I would love to see it. If he is already picking up the neck rein then you are doing very well. Just keep up the good work. Most of the time, it will take a couple of weeks at least to get a young hore to neck rein really well so don't get discouraged by one ride that went less than perfect.

Hmm ok I can try uploading it, but I'm telling you, all you can see is a blob! Well you can see if I'm walking, trotting or cantering, and you can tell the speed but nothing else.. It's really annoying, I have no idea why my camera started doing that, it's fine now..
It'll probably take some time to upload so I'll start now and if I don't finish, I'll do it tomorrow. (Its 23:00 here in Denmark now, so..)

YAY!!!! *applause* You look great, especially considering its only been a couple of days. One thing I did notice is try not to lean back so far when you ask for a stop, try to stay square in the saddle. Also, you might try working on your timing at the trot. Or if he just travels rough, it is okay to post a trot in western. If he seems a little sluggish reacting to the neck rein, it is okay to give him a little nudge with a leg or direct rein just to reinforce it. Just keep working on it. :) GREAT JOB. I pm'd you after I watched your other vid not knowing this one was here. I must say that he is catching on really quick. Be proud of yourself.

Yea its a little hard in trot sometimes because i try to keep him down at a jog so i have 100% control over him before he starts speeding up, otherwise i feel like he's just going his own speed instead of going my speed, and of course i sometimes put a little too much pressure on the bit to slow him down and he starts walking, especially in the small riding house since there's not much space there..
