Ruby's art journal

Okay, so @tinyliny has gone and done it.... They've inspired me. 😉 I'm starting an art journal that I probably won't keep up with, ha. Expect dogs, cats and many horses to be posted here. Opinions and thoughts are welcome!

Here is, quite honestly, my first true sketch of a horse.

Please help me name this fellow. I'm thinking Sketchy. And for a registered title, perhaps Made of Paper and Ink. Even though he's a pencil drawing. 😉

Materials used: An old notebook with a kitten on it and a mechanical pencil.

(Also, I promise I'm not crazy. I just name things a lot. 😉 )

Long time, no see. Some digital dog drawings.

Kiva's teeth are weird, and Marin's chest/leg/neck area looks funny, but I'm okay with it, since those are the first dogs I've done.

(I do not own these dogs, they're from Instagram.)

I like the last one best. Good strong composition, clean colors, and graphic quality. You might experiment with writing the dog's name in a heavier font. See what larger or smaller, darker or lighter, etc. writing looks like as part of the overall picture. The writing is part of it, beyond what the letters say.

I think the name in the picture, as a part of the whole, can be quite attractive.

Thanks for the input! I'll try it. 🙂

Piece #2! It won't look like this when it's been fired, haha.

Another digital drawing. I realized too late that I'd missed part of the forehead, so it isn't totally finished.
