Leggings?

Hi, next week I’ll be going to a five day riding camp, I found some old boots that will work fine for the time being, I’ll buy real riding boots if I decide to continue riding. But I was wondering if leggings would work, just for camp? It’s English riding lessons.

Or you can get some half chaps and not have to worry about the stirrup leathers. But, in general, there shouldn't be any problem riding in leggings unless it's a really snooty place LOL.

I find that I'll ride spontaneously in both jeans and leggings if I forgot a pair of jodhpurs. I don't like anything with back pockets for anything more than a potter around because I don't want it to rub the leather. Leggings I'm sliding all over the place haha. I will say though that if you're riding a lot within 5 days for me personally I'd want jodhpurs but only because I found that on longer rides the seams around my butt would rub if I wear normal clothes. They also usually have more calf protection too if you're planning on wearing short boots. Depends on you really! Enjoy!

As long as the legging are soft, not slick, and don't have big seams, you should be fine!

I have a pair of SweetLegs leggings that are thin, soft, and have an almost suede-like texture. They're nice for riding on hot days and I don't slip around. I also have some cheap soft cotton jeggings that are absolutely fine! I still wear half chaps with them.

I have discovered Jeggings also. I used to be really particular about my jeans and how they fit, but they were getting more and more expensive. One day I was to ride with a friend but I hadn't done my laundry, only husbands. All that was in my drawer were jeggings, so that was it! I threw on my boots and chinks and found they were the most comfortable for riding! Now that's all I do. Snooty place or not, I don't care. I'm there to ride
