Harness Comparisons

My driving horse, Clementine, is a 36" mini mare. Right now I have a pleasure harness from Ozark. It is a great harness and has been wonderful for us to train in. However, we are going longer and longer distances and I'm looking for something that will offer her a little more comfort. I've looked at the Comfyfit harnesses and the Camptown harnesses. Does anyone have any experience with either one? I am especially interested in the curved breast collars. Minis don't have much room for a breast collar to fit without interfering with the shoulder or throat (or both) so these wider curved breast collars look like a good fix. I was also wondering about just ordering a breast collar and neck strap to attach to my current harness... Kind of build a full comfyfit or camptown harness a few parts at a time as I can afford them. Any suggestions or info would be great. Also if . have other harness brands/types that you like let me know.

Sure, you can do that! I know several drivers who use Camptown. I ordered a harness saddle pad from her, and she was very helpful.

I have a ComfyFit harness, but the noeband on my driving bridle is from Camptown as I needed to have a longer top strap to buckle into the bottom strap (oh for big nosed Haflingers) and it was just easier to order it through Camptown as they can be puurchased seperately.

What I found was that they're the same material, same design, same construction. I think the same Amish harness makers that make ComfyFit makes the Camptown harness. I even think Marjean was associated with ComfyFit (or was the original distributor, can't remember) so its a very similar poduct so I dont think you can go wrong either way.

And no reason why you couldn't buy a harness piece-meal if you already have one. I very almost did that myself.
