Best area for horse property in eastern TN

My wife and I are retiring soon and would like to move to eastern TN and be as close to the smokies as possible. We will have 2 horses (both TWH) and would like some advice on the best places to buy horse property in eastern TN. My wife is into trail riding and dong endurance events. We have a nice LQ trailer to travelling to endurance events is not an issue if it's within a days drive. I would prefer to buy land and build (5 acres min) but will definitely look at a pre built house if it meets our criteria. I have searched for land/houses in the Lenoir City and Tellico Plains area but would entertain moving further north and NE if necessary. Thank you in advance for your input!

Maybe you should contact @gunslinger . I think that he lives somewhere near the area that you are looking at.

Have you looked at somewhere around Big South Fork or Jamestown TN?

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

If I were to move (which I won't) I would choose a place in or near the Smoky mountains too. We have vacationed there and love it. Never have rode a trail there, but it have to be top notch.
