How many steps do you do between poles?

How many steps do you do between poles and what height is your pony/horse?

My TB is 15ish HH and im still trying to work out how many steps I should do! I use toe-heel steps though!

I was just curious about how many steps you do!

Thanks :)

The wind of heaven is that which blows between a horses ears.

4 1/2 feet for average sized horse and 4'10" for larger. Easiest is to know your stride and walk it off rather than heel toe step but if going that route know how long your foot is in that boot.

3' for small ponies and 4' for large.

I am assuming trot poles not canter poles as well as true poles on the ground and not cavelletti.

Every ones number of steps will differ based on their own stride length or foot size.

My foot length is 1'. Pretty convenient. So 5 heel toe steps and then back the pole a couple of inches for my bigs and half a foot length for my littles.

My walking stride when pacing off length is about 3'. But, my striding walk is closer to 5'.

Some horse people change their horse, they change their tack and discipline, they change their instructor; they never change themselves.

These are just 3 of the many offered free to view by just googling...
If you are anything like me, you can only imagine so many configurations, then you see some more and go we can do that...
Pinterest has a huge amount to work from as does PracticalHorseman Magazine, and budgetequestrian.com for just a few examples.
