I need lots of exercise ideas for pre show prep!

I have a new Thoroughbred mare, and I'm hoping to show her lots in jumpers and H/J this year. I need some good jumping exercises that we can do while training for a show. Got any ideas? Thanks ! (:

In riding a horse, we borrow freedom.

I love doing bounces- teaches them where to put their feet and be careful---Not that great for speed though but ehhh I find them fun!

I enjoy practicing striding with my TB... set two jumps up that are a comfortable six strides apart. Do six strides a few times, then try for five strides. Once you hit five strides, try for seven strides. It's a great exercise for us both.

You can do grids with mix of oxers, verticals, x's. Take no stirrup lessons to get your seat correct too and a good base, practice roll backs, jump off turns exc. also a striding exercise I love I set poles down Ina circle evenly. Think of a clock ( don't know how else to describe!) have a pole at 12, 3,6,9 or 0,15,30,45 lol! Anyway walk the poles and have the middle of them set at 4 strides. Leave this exercise out for a while you can do a lot with it! You an do each section in the 4 or go down to 3 or up to 6 or more or less. Then do sitting, posting, rotations then canter rotations ( trot 1 section canter the next, trot the next then canter) you can get very very creative and this will help with transitions, your eye will improve your horse balanced and really LISTENING.

But do the circle 4 times then move out of it and go down the long side / exit the circle. Change direction do it the other way and after 4 times exit the circle. Doesn't matter if it was horrible or great dont drill this or you will go crazy. You will really see what's your good side and not. When you do this again if your horse gets what your asking the first 2 times get out of the circle and move onto something else. There's no need to do it again.

But by what I mean do it again is in that sequence. Go the other way , switch up what your asking then go back to it later in the ride. Let me know of that doesn't make sense, I'm on my cell so it's hard for me to proof read my posts
