Hi all 🙂 I took my very first lesson on Monday. We were on a longe line and I walked the horse for a short time and dove straight into practicing the two-point trot, which not long into I thought I was going to die from the physical fatigue that hit me. After I started practicing the posting trot which felt like would have been easier if I had more strength left in me. Of course that’s purely speculation on my part. The last thing I practiced was the sitting trot which by this time was a total relief. After cooling down my horse my attempt at a dismount was hysterical, humbling and borderline humiliating. I fell to the ground like a noodle. I had absolutely nothing left in my legs and walking the horse back to the barn was even difficult. Today, while most of my body has pretty much recovered, my inner thighs are still screaming. Wondering if some of you could share any advice with me on what I can do at home to improve my strength so that I can progress in my riding at a reasonable pace? Any other advice you may have for me is more than welcomed 🙂

Welcome! A yoga ball is really good for working those muscles. I also recommend stretching before and after you ride.

Don't worry, we all started off like this! You will get stronger!
